Hey everyone! Sort of good news, sort of bad. You may or may not know by now but reports are coming in from all over the country - in an effort to clear out overstock, Target stores have put the whole Secret Saturdays toyline on sale for up to 30-75% off depending on your own individual stores stock!
This is a great opportunity for all fans who have yet to pick up the line – go grab yourself a bargain. It’s also a good move to clear space for the few new items we are supposed to be getting. However it means the toys may not be doing as well as Mattel would like to keep the line going. So fans, near and far, take heed and continue to support the show and toys as much as you can.
Happy Cryptid Hunting!

Mattel’s line of Secret Saturday’s toys continues in 2010, and as you can see we’ve had a couple surprises already hit. We don’t know what is in store for all of the different lines, but news will start trickling in slowly.
Two things caught our attention though…
One, a strange Weird World themed “Argost Escape” playset was found online, but not yet in stock. However it doesn’t seem to match anything in the current lines. Only time will tell what this strange skateboarding Zak playset may be!
The second… a glimpse into the next wave of 5″ Action figures thanks to the box of the recently discovered Griffin Attack Jet vehicle…
.

Mattel’s Secret Saturday’s toyline is rolling out with some all new items this year, the first of which has come as a surprise to us – The Griffin Fighter Jet.
Thanks to member cryptidcollectibles on the forum for pointing this out. They currently have only been spotted online at retailers such as Amazon for 19.99, but we hope local sightings will commence shorty. The manufacturer description reads:
“Now kids can fly into action with the Griffin, a super stealth plane on a mission to capture Cryptids. With just a touch of a button, blast out two missiles to defeat evil and save the day! Cockpit seats one Secret Saturdays action figure.”
I managed to get my hands on one a few days ago and am here to give you the lowdown on this sweet new ride for the 5″ line.

We welcome a brand new entry into the collection of Secret Saturdays books – picture books!
Random House Publishing has now put out the first 8×8 softcover picture book entitled “Welcome to Weirdworld”. This is a brand new original adventure with Zak Fiskerton and Doyle, written by D. R. Shealy with large full color illustrations by Mike Manley.
The book itself is short and sweet, features a very nice cover illustration (which is also printed on the back), and is reasonably priced compared to similar type books at $3.99 for 24 pages of Saturdays goodness. Get it while it’s hot!

The third volume of the Secret Saturdays chapter book published by Random House had it’s release date bumped up to last week, and you can now add this great story to your growing Saturdays library.
“The Call of Kur” is an adaptation of the second season’s premiere episode “Kur”. The book covers the entire two part episode. This episode is again adapted by Irene Trimble , and features wonderful full color illustrations by Ethan Beavers.
As with the previous books in the series, this one is 80 pages and retails for $5.99.
